(No sewin...It's only been a few days people)!

Yep! I have a painting business (acrylics...that is) and it's going great! You need to check out "Art by Fe" on facebook. I am juggling the painting thing and makeup thing these days because...well...the entertainment industry just isn't as busy as it once was. I know...tear! It's sad, but I have to make grub somehow and I might as well be having fun...and well...art is fun (to me)!

Otherwise, Pat is doing awesome! Have I told y'all lately how amazing he is as a husband and a daddy?? Well he is unbelievably superb! He works his everlivin' tail off working as a (almost 2nd year) Radiology resident. Then, comes home and loves on/plays with Toby, helps me around the house, gives T a bath, and reads to him every night (baths and books are their "man time"). I know y'all are wondering what I do! Don't even go there...you all know that I am cooking or catching up on something I didn't get done that day...especially since this Art stuff has gotten busier. Or, I am RESTING because I can! ALL of you mommas should at some point and time of the day too!

Toby is just a growin! He is talking constantly and cracks us up every chance he can get! He has been recently introduced to "time out" and has done amazing with it! He is realizing...hmmmm...maybe I should stop what I am doing before they put me over there against the wall. And...I am glad he is learning that! He is honestly (minus the few "timeouts" a week) is the sweetest, most loving little boy ever! He loves to hug and gives sugars ALL the time! It's priceless!

Me, I am seeing a tiny speck of light at the end of the tunnel with this nausea thing. WOW! It's been a rough go this time! It's ALL worth it though! We should be finding out what we're having in the next few weeks...no worries I will keep you posted!

Hope your time in the Robbins Roost has been entertaining! We are loving this beautiful day (that the LORD has made...I will rejoice...I will rejoice...and be glad...) O sorry got carried away! Pat and T are outside swinging and I am typing to you...this is a problem! Bye everyone!

Blogger Templates

Well...I am trying!

So...as you can tell...ummm...it's been a year since the last blog! NOT to promise daily blogs
2. to attempt to keep you updated weekly
3. to keep you entertained with our crazy life
4. to talk about non-sense, some or most of the time
5. How was your week? I hope it was great!

I always hate complaining about a hectic life because I realize that 99% (I hope I never meet the other 1%-because they're probably from another planet!) of the world also shares my pain, but I will complain now anyway!

So, 1st of all...it was awesome to have Pat off for 3 days straight Saturday, Sunday, and Monday...but it was not so great that he woke up a little after 1:00 a.m. Tuesday morning with a horrible disgusting stomach virus. He continued this bathroom party until 6:00 a.m.! Needless to say-he looked like a colorless, floaty object...YIKES! So, of course...I was thinking...LORD please don't let T get this...didn't much care if I did, but definitely didn't want T to. Especially since Pat had to call into work on Tuesday and hang out around us. Mr. T and I decided to make a Walmart run for the groceries (haven't been taking T shopping because I have been spoiled with mothers morning out). Overall, it was a successful mission! I rescued my poor husband with some gatorade and that's all he had ALL DAY LONG besides a half of a piece of toast!

The blessing is that T did not get the nasty bathroom party virus and neither did I! SIGH! Also, Pat was able to go back to work on Wednesday and felt much better.

Pat and I were able to go see Shane and Shane (since he was feeling better) with Pat's brother and his wife (SSOOOOOO GOOD!)

Also, on Wednesday...I got a call for WORK! BLESSING! But...it was for Thursday...and it was in Memphis...and I usually have no child care...

The blessing is that my mom I had a dr. appt. in Jackson and was already staying with us because we were going to the concert and there was supposed to be another job on Thursday that had gotten canceled, so she was a LIFESAVER and stayed with Toby while I traveled to Memphis to work and traveled back all in 12 hrs:) We were also able to hang out on Wednesday and had lunch at steak escape (yummy) and got her hair cut. It's always good hanging out with her because usually when we see each other-I am headed out the door for work and when I get in she is headed out the door to go home.

Thanks mom for helping with T and thanks dad for going without the wifey for two days:)

Even though T didn't get the virus...he now has a runny nose! Where does he get that snot from! Oh well, he's not running fever...NOW...and we pray he gets over the snotty nose quickly!

Thursday, while I was working I got another job offer for next week, but I have child care issues for that day! But, we NEED it badly!

So, as of right now we are still trying to figure that one out, but the blessing is that I found someone else that can watch Toby when my mom can't and she's an awesome friend...and she understands and accepts the "craziness" of my "fly by the seat of your pants" job. HUGE BLESSING!

The blessing in general...is that even when we wonder, worry, or doubt...GOD always provides-it may not be a blessing, but it's an answer and when we pray for GOD's answer...he ALWAYS provides!

Are any of you wondering, worrying, or doubting about something right now? I like it and hope to do more for the house...pics to follow.

And...today...I have bundled me and lil T up and taken some pics outside of the beautiful snow...unfortunately Pat is on call...hopefully it'll stick so Pat and T can play in it in the morning.

I have also...thrown on the "fake" ugg boots and gone outside to fix our direct tv...and found that our dish was FULL of snow so I came (almost falling and dying several times!) in got a broom and tried to reach it on the roof (don't try this at home ladies) and in the process of doing so took a nice spill into the snow...laughed at myself AFTER looking around and making sure no one saw me...then discovered the perfectly imprinted broom in the snow! Ridiculous, but after my fall I attempted to throw the broom at the dish and after almost getting stuck...it cleared out a little and now it works! Just so you know...my child was sleeping in our warm home...in his room directly under the dish...so of course I was trying to be quiet...if that's possible when you are chunking a broom in the air! To add to it...when I fell...the monitor went flying too...I eventually found it...made sure T was still asleep and then began doctoring my wrist(which is fine)! whhheeeehhh!

Now, our pine tree in the backyard looks like its mope-in today...and it has had 2 LARGE limbs fall from it!

And, its still snowin!

YIKES!
Blogger Templates

Pic from Christmas...I need to download all my recent ones...another "to do"

I debated back and forth for a while about taking T to mothers morning out. He really needed to be around other little ones and I really needed to run errands, do bills, and any other stuff that is a little difficult when you have a little one with you. Don't get me wrong...it CAN be done...if I couldn't these past 8 months would be unsuccessful for sure!!! I don't like messing up his schedule....and it's just a little difficult to do those quick errands like dry cleaning...I can't leave him in the car running! I know...I am one of those moms that thinks my kid is going to be abducted with my car...what are the chances???? You never know, so I decided to put him in mothers morning out.Today is the 2nd time Toby has been to mmo. So, I am hoping he is doing well...I miss him, but I know it's great for me and for little T. It's only about 5 mins. away...Park Place Bapt. is where I decided to take him. Their price was the best, their people are precious, and the location can't be beat...right across from Walmart! I am excited about getting the shopping done, the business papers/banking kept up, the big cleaning projects at home (always stay straight) like mopping, cleaning fans, baseboards, etc. Right now I suppossed to be doing bills and banking, so I will need to zip it up!

What about you? Do you guys leave your baby/doggie:) in the car when you run in somewhere...with the car on? Am I a little paranoid?

Have a great day and I hope God blesses you in your day...either it be a poopie day or a perky day:)

Blogger Templates

Uncle Russ and Aunt Meg

Our friends Russ and Megan came over for dinner tonight! We had garlic lemon chicken...yummo! It was great to see them-Russ and Pat met through church and med school and Meg and I met through our hubbies. She is the #1 bloggity blogger of all time, so I am trying to make her proud...it's only taken about a year to start this up again. Pat and Russ are both going to be Radiologists, but...sadly Russ and Meg are moving to Memphis in a couple of months for Russ to continue his training! I am bummed to say the least. Megan knows exactly how to console me when these crazy schedules of theirs start to get a little or a lot annoying. I love them and know that they will always be a part of our family. And, we pray that soon...very soon they have a bunch of mini Rus-egans runnin around...I know the Lord is going to bless them for sure in all they do! I would love to catch you up on the past year of my life, but it'll take too long...so hope you can settle for a few monthly highlights!

March 09 - Pat matched in Jackson for his Intern year and Radiology years:)

April 09 - Pat, myself, Bella(our doggie), and my gigantor belly (aka Toby) moved from our home in Jackson (Fondren) to Pearl (Patrick Farms)...we love love love our new home:)

May 09 - Well this one is a doozy...1st of all Pat was off this entire month...so I had a baby shower at our house ummmmm 3 wks after moving in...don't try this people! Then...all in 7 days time we had family come in(wed.) for Pat's long coat ceremony(thurs.) and graduation(fri.) and for fun hang out time (sat.-mon.) and early early on Tues. Toby knocked on my belly (really hard btw) and said hey mmmmooooommmmmmmmaaaaaaa) its time to play and boy did he!!!! It was a great labor until he decided to try to leave my womb sideways and so we had to do a good ole c section (I would go through all of it again times 10 just to see his beautiful face:)) O and my sweet mom-in-law drove all the way from the coast every weekend to help with T and still does!!! I love it!

June 09 - Pats still off this month too...he was a HUMONGOUS help with little T and me (of course he is the best hubby in the universe!) I started back to work here and there when it came in

July 09 - Pat started his intern year! Hematology - Yikes and YUK!!!

August 09 - Toby just a growin and Pats just a workin on his Radiology month and I am just a workin too!

September 09 - Toby got dedicated and wore the same christening gown that Pat, his mom, his aunt, his brothers, and his cousins wore! Super sweet! Pat was on his ER month. Fe was a workin chic...tons of commercials and weddings!

October 09 - We were able to get together with my moms side of the family for a bro/sis reunion. Lindsey (our friend from med school) came in for a visit. Unfortunately, Fe was workin and didn't get to vistit with Lindz a ton...even missed out on the Canton Flea Market...work is good though:) keeps us eatin! Mr. T was a monkey for his 1st Halloween...boy was he a cute one! Pat was on his 1st month of UMC General medicine and that's stinky(well the schedule is!)

November 09 - Got to see Pat's entire family for Thanksgiving! Toby was able to meet his only surviving great grandmother on Pat's side...how sweet...she just recently lost her sweet life on January 25th:( She was such a blessing and we are so happy that T was able to meet her and get a pic with her too! T also started cereal along with bon appetite momma style. Pat had a week vacation during his clinic month and so that's how we were able to go to TX to visit the fam.

December 09 - Fe was workin on several Baptist Hospital commercials and various other projects. Pat was on UMC General medicine...poopie schedule, but it happens no more...yeepeee!!! T started his 1st foods this month...we made them and are still going strong with it...save money and is very convenient! T had his 1st Christmas...and his 1st sickness! Yikes! And his 1st fall(s)...doesn't sound like a good Christmas to him I am sure, but at least it's memorable! T was nice enough to give his crud to momma too! It was awesome to have Uncle G, Uncle Seth, Aunt LB, and Grand Mary all here for Christmas too...what a blessing:)

Breath....

Ok...

almost done...

here we go...

January 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- WHOLE NEW YEAR! Pat was working on his first month of VA General medicine...schedule wasn't as bad...one month down and one more VA month to go! Mr. T is tapering off on the nursing...and is really getting around! He turned 8 months this month and is around 22 lbs. momma mia!!! Fe was around home more this month, but it's ok...more time with T and good ending months for 09 keeps us safe...for now. T also started yogurt this month...yummo:) He says buh bye and waves, and mutters momma and dada too! Of course, as we said earlier we did lose Pat's gma too, but we know she is no longer suffering...praise God! Well...and on a brighter note the SAINTS won the NFC championship!

February 10 - Who said what...Who dat wins the SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!!!! We are already done with one week of it and 2.5 to go!

You are up to date...no major details, but hey you got the point, right!?! It can be summed up easily by saying 2009 was eventful! What do you think? How was your 2009? Good year or bad? I say every year is good because the LORD gives us all we go through...he gives us trials to learn from and blessings to float us along!

Thankful Thursdays!!! The great thing about the last two years of medical school is the schedule...it's great! Pat didn't have to study as much because he was training at the hospital...which meant more free time!

Pat and I decided to start trying to have a baby In January of 2007. We were super excited! I got off of birth control and allowed it to get out of my system until March...that was the first month that we actually tried and low and behold we got pregnant that month! The doctor confirmed that I was pregnant 2 weeks and 2 days after conception...meaning I was 4 weeks and 2 days pregnant. We took blood and I had my initial exam and everything was normal. The doctor called later and told me that my HCG level (the number that represents the strength of your pregnancy...and should go up the longer that your pregnant...and then tapers off at a certain point) was a little low, but that since we found out so early that I was pregnant it was not something to get worried about...so we continued to take my blood every 48 hrs. and the numbers were rising appropriately...even though it was rising...it was doing so very slowly...the numbers eventually got over 5000 and we were able to do a sonogram and see the baby and we were also able to see the heartbeat, but it wasn't quite strong enough to hear...which was also normal. The baby was measuring a little behind according to my due date...which was concerning, but again...these things can happen and everything would be fine...eventually...that sonogram said that I was 5 weeks and 6 days pregant. We were super excited...I wasn't very sick...smells would bother me and my chest was pretty sore, but those were all great signs!

I started spotting shortly after my first sonogram and the spotting continued to get worse...until one night we were out eating and I went to the restroom and was bleeding quite bad...we immediately went to the Emergency room. They took me back for a sono., but Pat wasn't able to go with me (the worst possible thing ever!)...the tech. searched for a heartbeat and little Baby R#1 had went to be with Jesus. It was very difficult...especially being without Pat...they rolled me back to the room and I tried to be strong, but when I saw Pat...I broke! Pat's face was so indiscribably disappointed! We confirmed the miscarriage at 8 weeks and 1 day pregnant and had the D&C at 8 weeks and 2 days (May 19 2007).

I tell you all of this...not to make those who are pregnant scared...but to share our sorrows and unseen blessings with you...please know that the same things that happened to me...can happen to you and your baby will be fine! There are some babies that are meant to make it into the world and some that are not...those that are not get to go the Heaven before us... and that's a blessing!

These are lyrics to "Glory baby" by Watermark...and they truly explain how we feel about our pregnancy...if you want to listen...the song is on my playlist at the bottom...

     Glory Baby, You slipped away
As fast as we could say baby, baby
You were growing, what happened Dear,
You disappeared on us baby, baby
Heaven will hold you before we do
Heaven will keep you safe
Until we're home with you
Until we're home with you

(chorus)
We miss you everyday
Miss you in every way
But we know there's a day
When we will hold you, we will hold you
And you'll kiss our tears away
When we're home to stay
We can't wait for the day
When we will see you, we will see you
But baby let sweet Jesus hold you
`Til mom and dad can hold you
You'll just have heaven before we do
You'll just have heaven before we do

Sweet little baby, it's hard to understand it
Cause we are hurting, we are hurting
But there is healing
And we know we're stronger people
Through the growing and in knowing
All things work together for our good
And God works his purposes
Just like he said he would
Just like he said he would

(chorus)

I can't imagine Heaven's lullabies
And what they must sound like
But I will rest in knowing
Heaven is your home
And it's all you'll ever know
All you'll ever know

(chorus)

We started our journey into recooperating and understanding what had taken place, but before we knew it disaster strikes again!

A little more of our 1st 2 years of med school/my school and business

Now, besides our regular trials from med school...our 1st year of marriage included our air conditioner going out at the same time that I was coming home from an unexpected gallbladder surgery and then the next week the microwave went out!!! This all happened in May of 06! I mean have any of you ever had these AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH moments...like when you ask yourself whats next and wondering why you didn't get a great harvest from the money tree in the backyard this year????!!!????

Well, as you might have figured it out...we made it! We have completely come to trust that GOD always allows even the hardest of things to come to a solution or to an end either way. We were about a week away from our home warranty lapsing and were able to save about $15oo! Wow, thank you Jesus...another prayer answered. As far as my surgery...the doctor told us that there would be no need to set up a payment plan...he would only accept the insurance and no payment from us (yes, tears...tons of tears...of gratefulness), and on top of that my parents blessed us with a microwave!

UNBELIEVABLE...something that seems to be a burden ends up being a blessing...that's how GOD works!

Starting our new life together...

(Our Home...purchased in May 05)
As I said on one of the earlier post Pat is in med school...he started school in August 05...a month after our wedding. I was working at a bank at the time and I loved where I worked! His first two years of school were rough...he had to be at school all day and study at night. I will tell you that it HAS NOT been a horrible experience for us. You make life what you want it to be...we knew we were in love and that we would do what it took to accomplish this goal together!

(Hurricane Katrina...an unbelievable hurrican
e in Aug 05...this was in my mother-in-laws front yard...after all the water went back into the ocean...it left tons of debris in her yard and this was one of the things we came home to...we DID NOT touch anything...it was already this way...drenched in water and standing straight up...makes you think...huh???)

Pat finished his first semester of school and I decided that I would pursue one of my dreams of being a business owner and go back to school too. I started my makeup business in Oct. 05 (while I was still at the bank) and decided to go completely freelance as a makeup artist and full-time student in Jan. 06. It has been such a blessing to do what I love and to have a little more flexibility in my schedule. Pat started his 2nd semester of med school when I started my 1st year back to college. I went to college after high school, but it wasn't a focus at that time in my life and unfortunately I didn't finish. So, I completely started over from scratch! It actually helped us because when Pat was studying...I was too. He continued in school and before we knew it... he was at the end of his 2nd year and I was finishing my 1st year.

Our 1st Christmas together...Dec 05
I can tell you that the way that we were able to go through all of this crazy stuff together was based on FAITH...that word is engraved in Pats ring and that's what our marriage is based around. It's not that we never have a tough time, but it's that we know that having faith most importantly in God and then in one another was going to be the solution. We knew that having Faith would bring us through hardships in finances, in time together/or lack of, in illness, and what ever else would come up...In the beginning...when med school started we started a date night/date day time. Every Friday night we would have date night and every Sunday afternoon we would have date day and if for some reason we couldn't be together those days...then we would change it to another day...we never dropped those days...they were so precious! I had to respect his time to study and he had to respect my need to be together. Somehow in the craziness of all of that we fell in love with each other more and more everyday!

Now, after saying all of that let me tell you that LIFE does not come easy...even though I am telling you all of these wonderful things (that are 100% true)...it takes dedication and lots of compromise...usually our week for the 2 years of med school looked like this...

Sunday...church and date day
Monday...school and study
Tuesday....school and bible study at Library
Wednesday...school and study
Thursday...school and study at Library
Friday...school and date night
Saturday...study and relax or catch up with family and friends

...and then it starts all over again and you and I both know that not every week worked perfectly this way...it would be lots of compromise and understanding (which neither one of us were perfect at all the time). I wouldn't change a thing because we were able to learn so much with one another. I told Pat that in the beginning I wanted this (med school) to be "our" accomplishment, because even though he was going through all of the studying and classes...I was just as much going through the crazy schedule, standing by his side, and supporting him the entire way through!

Our wedding and honeymoon

Well we were married on July 2 05 and it was HOTTTTT!!!!! But it was gorgeous! We were married at Provine Chapel in Clinton on the MS College campus. Our college minister married us...we had known Steven for a while (Pat and I both helped with the college ministry at FBCJ when we met). Steven was even in on the proposal at the church. He did an amazing job! We had 10 groomsmen and 10 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, 1 ring bearer, and a partridge and a pear tree! HAHA!! We were extremely blessed to have our talented friends there to play music for the wedding and they even turned it into an amazing worship time. We had our reception outside (I know it was WARM...that's an understatement!) It was so pretty though...we had all of our family and friends there too! We were only at the reception for a small time because it was so hot, but it worked out well because we ended up leaving right before the rain started! The day was a blast and I wouldn't change a thing about it!

Our honeymoon was in Riveria Maya, Mexico. We stayed at the Moon Palace Resort...it was all inclusive...so we had all the food we can ever eat and we had three trips that were included in the package. We went snorkeling on one of them, we went and saw Mayian ruins, and we also went to an island off the coast of Mexico. We were able to swim with dolphins too! It was a blast!

I will get on with the story

Ok...so now you know that we love each other! Pat and I had been talking about marriage for a while...he wanted to propose the summer of 05 and get married the summer of 06, but I thought that made absolutely no sense...considering he was starting med. school in 05! Anyway, we went to our friends engagement party and as we were leaving started talking about the subject of marriage again...he said he wanted to wait because he would have more money...you and I both know that when your in med. school you do not work and you don't have much money! So, I didn't relate...I brought that point to his attention and by the end of that night we had planned our entire wedding party! The next day we looked at rings for the first time ever! He also asked my dad for permission...(that was on a Sunday)...by Monday(Valentines Day)...he bought my ring...and by Wednesday night...he proposed! Yes, I know that was very fast...after us taking it very slow, but when you know you go! He actually proposed to me at church in front of 250+ people! Yikes! Good thing I said yes!

Well, we were engaged for 4 1/2 months and married on July 2 2005...Pat started med. school in August and boy has it been a journey...one that God has blessed us through the whole entire way!

Another amazing thing did happen...did you remember when I told you about my family and how my parents had not been in church for a while. Well, when Pat and I got engaged we decided to join our church permanently and get baptized together. Pat had been raised Catholic and I was what you call a "mix-breed"...I had been involved with a few different denominations growing up. I wanted my parents to see us get baptized, but my church is a large church and my parents didn't feel very comfortable coming...so they decided against it...I was sad, but I understood their decision...when the time came for us to get baptized...my parents surprised us ...they were there! All of that to say...it's crazy how the Lord works things through...if I had not met Pat...got engaged and made the decision to get baptized together...maybe my parents would have never come to church! (The greatest thing...none of this...I can take credit for...obviously the Lord spoke to them and told them to show up...I thank him for that everyday!) The Lord spoke to their hearts that night and told them that we wanted them back in church...they listened! They visited FBCJ for a while and then found a church of their own! They have now moved and settled in another church and are unbelievable followers of the Lord...I am so proud of them and blessed through what God has done for all of us!

OOPS

I started my blog two days ago...so this is a newer update to tell you to read my finished blog...hehe!

Continuing my story...of the goobers...aka...the crazy robbins!

...we somehow started to feel a little more for one another...we both knew that we wanted to date a person that we could talk to and the rest would just fall in place (don't get me wrong...he was always a hottie...so that was just a huge plus for me:)) Remember when I said we didn't necessary feel like we should be more than friends after eating together...well...we both misunderstood one another and after further examination (hehe) we realized that we had an unbelievable amount of things in common...our struggles, our opinions, our strengths, and most importantly our desire to love the Lord! All of these posts have been to sorta catch you up on who I am and what I have been through...so to spare you a lot of amazing details about our relationship...I will give you a couple of highlights for Pat and I...okay...so our first date was Oct. 11 2003...that's literally the day we just kinda gave in...going on this date...I know I wanted more and had no clue about what he wanted, but when I told him that some of our friends were going to the fair and to get a bite to eat and then said...well it's a couple so it will be a double date I guess...he blushed and said..."a date, huh?"...and I smiled with my heart beating ninty to nuthin and said...uh yeah...hehe!... Applebees and the fair...out first date...I really just look back and think of it as confirmation of the eventual inevitable happenings of Pat and Fe! We both had been in fairly serious relationships in our past...so we took it "slow"...and I think we actually reinvented "slow"...REAL slow...so slow that we actually dated for 15 months before if even told me that he loved me...not that he hadn't for a really, really long time and the same for me, but we wanted to be safe and know that when we did share that moment that it would be a vow and not just words (don't get me wrong...if I would've had my choice I would have said it a lot sooner!) So, when we did finally tell one another we loved each other...

well the conversation actually goes...

Pat...Hey Felicia...what if I said I liked you a lot? (NO joke...I know it sounds like grade school...haha)

Felicia...Ok...(with a weird smirk on my face from that crazy statement before)...what if I said I like you a lot?

giggle inside from both of us...

Pat...well, what if I said I love you a lot?

Felicia...(can't breath....oh my goodness....get your composure...by the way...this is all going on in my head) Ok, well what if I told you that I just peed my pants? (yep...I said it...no I did NOT pee my pants! Are you crazy?)

Pat...huh?(dying out laughing) Aren't you gonna say you love me too?

Felicia...oh yeah(dying out laughing) I love you too...hehe!!!

...then kisses and hugs and then on Feb. 16th....(I am gonna leave you hangin again...sorry...it's worth waiting for...I promise!)

What happens next?

Well...I was in a new city...I had a few friends there. So, in May I stopped going to church until I moved in July 2003.
WOW! July was a life changing month...I started over in a new place, single, started going to church (didn't know many people...but I did know that's where I needed to be) Rewind for a second...back to March...I met several people when a friend introduced me to FBCJ.

I remembered meeting one guy in particular that seemed intriguing (to say the least) and on-fire for the LORD. I will never forget our 1st conversation...it was based around a bible verse he had read that day during his quiet time and he was breaking it down to me. Boy!!!! He was passionate! I loved it! He was nice and so were a lot of other people I met that day too! Now, fast forward to August (I am in church every day the doors were open and I had so many new friends). I was finally the PERSON that I had longed to be for quite some time. I was not in college at the time, but I was an active member of the college ministry because of my age. There was a scavenger hunt and I wanted to go to it...so I did! I actually wanted to be part of this "certain" guys team because i liked him, but GOD surely had other plans! I had a car and a video camera and another team needed both of those to be included in the hunt...so I became part of that team...the same team that had the guy I had met when I initially came to FBCJ (the guy that was passionate about the bible verse)...so, we all had a blast and actually won the challenge (yayyyyyy!) That guy (don't worry...you'll eventually get his name...just be patient) and I became friends...we wanted to get to know each other better...we ate together one night...and entertained the thought of being more than friends, but decided against it...our friendship was great, but at that time we didn't think we were right for one another...we continued being friends...great friend that talked on the phone all the time, but never thought that there would ever be a relationship more than friends...this kept on until October and then .... (ok...I will leave you in suspense until the next post...hehe!)

Who am I?

Well, that's also a long story! Now that you know my family...you know that they are great! I am a fighter...I fight for what I believe in and what I want and what I hope. I wasn't always that way. My parents have always taught me to work hard, so I have...at least I think I have:) In my younger years I grew up in a family that went to church...my grandfather was a preacher...sometimes things don't go as they should and then you question if you should be in church...that's what my family did for a while...don't get me wrong...my family was a "good" family. There were never problems with alcohol or cigarettes or abuse...we just didn't go to church. So, when I was about 12...I started going to church with a friend and church camp with my cousins. I loved it! I felt surrounded with people who loved the Lord and it made me feel whole. I guess I was about 14 when I stopped going to church with my friends, but I continued church camp every summer except for one until I was 19. I actually went to church with my family on holidays and special occasions, but besides that I stopped going to church regularly until I was almost 16. I actually found out that one of the church groups that I went to camp with...was near where I lived. I went to camp at AIM youth camp (it was awesome)...some of the camps were in Eupora MS ( I was saved at the camp in MS when I was 12) and some were in AL. I started going to Riverside IMC in Jackson...I instantly had a great group of friends and supporters and for the next several years I attended that church and followed the "straight" path. I dated a couple of nice, Christian guys and found happiness for a little while, but after attending that church for 4 years...(I was 19)...a long relationship ended and I was left wondering...WHO AM I? Am I a girl who truly longs to be in the Lord's presence or was I the girl who longed for what the world had for me? I wanted to "experience" life, but I just was...in a way...lost in myself! So, I started dating different guys who didn't have the same moral values that I had in the past, but I stuck with them anyway...some for short periods of time and one for a while. I never struggled with drinking or any of those types of things...frankly I had never tried it! I started a new relationship that ended up lasting a while and during that I tried alcohol...liked it...too much and struggled morally in my relationship. I can remember feeling EMPTY...even though pictures had smiles...there were only frowns inside. I knew that the Lord had so much more for me, but I turned my back on God...I know it's horrible...but I did...when I did...there was no JOY...none!!! I had a guy, a great job, a family that loved me. They knew I was not being who I wanted to be...they did...I wasn't ready to admit it. You can fast forward 3 years and I was 21. I was still miserable in who I had become...I would cry going home from a wild night (who knows what kind of night it was) as I turned the station in the car to Christian music and listened to these thoughts that filled my heart. I'd remember when I could listen to that music and wear those camp shirts and not feel ashamed...but at that time...when I was 21...I couldn't...NOT...feel ashamed...I was ashamed of everything I was. I heard the Lord saying I am here with you and you are the only one that let go...all you have to do is grab my hand and I will guide you out of this and I knew that was true. I was just so deeply sad about seeing WHO I WAS. I was a woman that in no way shape or form represented the Love of Christ and I so deeply wanted that! At the same time of all this drama...I was in school full time and working full time...needless to say school didn't go so well...so I quit (just another thing to be ashamed of). I moved to another city to be closer to a failing relationship and the day after moving and finally listened to the Lord...stretched out my hand and asked him to guide me. He did! I ended that relationship that day (the day after moving) and took a deep sigh of relief and set in for a total spiritual makeover. I spent my time...when I was not working...with the Lord and that was it...only him because I knew that's what I needed. In the end I found out WHO I WAS...(the hard way). I now have had those struggles...those issues...that I had to work through...but I found out the whole entire time that I was struggling...the Lord loved me and he never left my side...I also learned that I AM a woman who desires to live for God and to serve him and to represent Christians in a way that shows JOY and HAPPINESS in all we do...not just the good times, but the bad too!
There is much more about my family and their journey and about the new city that I moved to...that I will write in the coming days.

The fam

Well...hmmmm...this is a long story...well here we go...let's see how far we get. I am one of two children and my parents have been happily married for 29 years in January. My brother is 25 and has a beautiful wife and little 1 year old boy.
You know sometimes when you talk about your family...you just give the basics...their age, what they do, or something they may enjoy. My family deserves much more than I give them credit for!
                                  ( My family when I way 18, Justin 17, Mom 38, and dad 40)

My dad is super young...he just turned 48 this year. He is a man of strong character, determination, and love that runs deep...you can see this when he looks at my mom. He has provided for my family by frankly working his booty off all of his life. He has been through so much physically...especially in the past few years (I do have to say he has more lives than a cat...which I am very thankful for)! Last year my dad feel from a tree while cutting limbs...he feel about 20 feet and landed on his feet. He isn't the smallest man in the world, so this did a great deal of damage. He crushed his left foot and broke the left leg too...along with breaking his right ankle and right leg. We didn't know if my dad would ever walk again, but by those attributes mentioned earlier and more importantly by the grace of God he is alive and walking today. He has always a such a sense of determination deep down inside and I know that even today he struggles with pain and discomfort...he still works not only at work, but around the house, and does stuff for others! You would have to understand the extent of his injury to understand how amazing this is! My father is a man that I am proud to call daddy...I know that he wasn't able to be around a lot growing up, but I know that he was providing for us and whenever he wasn't working he was being there for us! I am the woman that I am because of his example...Love you daddy!
( Me and Pat with Mom and Dad at Pat's MBA graduation...May 05)

Now, my mom...it's crazy I know, but she is only 46 years old! The one word that comes to mind when I think of my mom is strength! She doesn't believe that she's very strong, but wow she surely is! She has had a few difficult things happen to her throughout her life, but she has been resilient through the trials. She was taken out of school in Junior High, but has been highly sought after in the apartment management industry throughout the years...not many people can say that without having a type of degree. She married my dad when she was 18 and my dad was 19...she has always...I repeat always...put everyone in front of herself...she is the least selfish person that you will ever meet in your life! She so beautiful!!! I do give her a hard time sometimes about the clothes she wears...but man she is looking hotter and hotter the older she gets...hahahaha!!! She's gonna kill me when she reads this! You know when I was growing up we didn't always have the money that we needed, but somehow she always made it work...she made sure that everyone had food, clothes, and the necessities. She didn't always take care of herself in the same way, but she made it work. That's what's so amazing about her...she has (just like dad) worked her booty off to provide! I can remember so many times growing up...when we did whatever we could to help mom around the house, but she always did it better! She would clean better...not cook better...hahahaha...but definitely clean better than any one of us could! I have so many different qualities from my mom...my quirky mannerisms, my neat freak ways, but most importantly my strength...I know she thinks I am strong, but that strength came directly from her! I am the woman that I am because of her example! Love you momma!

                                                                                    (Christmas 2000)

Okay...so my brother is simple...so isn't going to be very long. He is a big teddy bear...he loves to be loved and appreciated. He is a lot like my dad...he's a very hard worker...his number one priority is providing for his family. He is faithful! He loves his precious wife and little boy with all of his heart! Justin was always very tough when we were young, but he had this vulnerable side of him that just longed to be loved and accepted just the way he was...that's why everyone loves him! He will be a great leader one day for something (I hope it's for the Lord)! He is amazing and I am super proud to call him my brother!

(Me and Justin when were 5 and 6...I think)

So...there is a lot more to come...more about how I am and more about new family (Pat's family and brother in laws and sister n laws too!)

I am back in business!

Okay...I know I have done a pretty horrible job of blogging...I just smacked myself on the hand...punishment handled! I miss my no metal mouth!
So, here I am with braces...and shorter hair...love the hair...and well the braces they will be off soon enough! Oh well, hopefully I will eventually get the hang of all of this posting business and post more entertaining stuff!

Bella

Well, this is our little family! Bella Rae was born in April 07 and she is wonderful! She is an Italian greyhound, so she is a miniature greyhound. She is full grown and weighs only 8.6 pounds! My friend Megan and I went and picked her up...too bad I didn't give Megan a big notice to drive all the way to Arkansas almost Oklahoma, but she was up for it!
Bella was a little hard to potty train at first...actually a lot...there was poop everywhere! Thank God she is wonderful in that department now! She is now a year and two months old and absolutely a blast.
Bella liked to show her baby teeth off by smiling for the camera, but those are all gone and now she has big fangs...not really, just bigger teeth!
